IAN FISHER solo zur Sonntagsmatinee

am So., 29. März 2026 um 16:00 Uhr

Ian Fisher left his home state of Missouri when he was twenty one to get lost in Europe for fifteen years. His music mixes his rural Midwestern American upbringing with a dark delicacy shaped by his time abroad. Simple, yet emotionally complex, he has the acoustic grit of an early Jeff Tweedy with the sentimentality of Townes Van Zandt and political leanings of Billy Bragg. Having written nearly two thousand songs while touring extensively through Europe, Africa, and North America, his many albums have earned him praise in such outlets as Rolling Stone, who calls his music “A world traveler’s perspective on American folk-rock”. When not on the road, you’ll find him at his studio in Vienna, Austria, or on his family farm in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.

“Half Americana & Half Abbey Road-Worthy Pop”

– ROLLING STONE [US]

“A unique, indie-tinged combination of country, folk, and Americana”

– Spotify for Artists Interview [US]

“A world-aware artist who intends to use his platform to voice his thoughts and concerns regarding society in a way that blurs the lines between the personal and political.”

– Pop Matters [US]

“Simultaneously retro and fresh”

– GLIDE MAGAZINE [US]

“Ian Fisher‘s got a way with words only a traveled man can grasp.”

– American Standard Time [US]

“Fisher crafts simple, yet emotionally complex meanderings… His voice a hoarser Jim Croce, with pen ready to strike a’la Billy Bragg meets an old Johnny Cash notebook.”

– No Depression [US]

“A one of a kind, heartbreaking voice”

– Süddeutsche Zeitung [D]

„What’s instantly noticeable with Ian Fisher is how he manages to shuffle the gold pan of his natural Missouri Americana nuggets with his now expatriate Euro-pop morsels to produce a Euro-Americana hybrid showcase.”

– Americana Highways [US]
